Healthcare Heroes

How to Bring Humanity to Travel when no one can travel?

Healthcare Heroes was born out of a fundamental insight from JetBlue cabin crew interviews.

We asked Americans to nominate 100,000 Healthcare Heroes –  those who’d gone the extra-mile during the pandemic. In response, we received 490,000 nominations in less than 4 weeks. And in the months to come, we had an abundance of social stories from our Healthcare, sharing first-person travel experiences.

During the campaign period, JetBlue’s Net Promotor Score rose an unprecedented 8-points, with the CMO announcing it as the “most successful campaign ever.”

NYC Office of the Mayor

Introduction of Ranked Choice Voting

The Office of Mayor De Blasio came to us with an urgent dual request:

  • Explain Ranked Choice Voting (RCV) to New Yorkers as an important new voting mechanism.
  • Encourage more diverse communities to get out and vote.

With a 21-day turnaround, we produced a “Non-PSA” featuring NYC community neighborhood characters, encouraging their local neighborhoods to get out and vote.

The campaign resulted in an overall 15% increase in voter turnout, with a 22% increase in minority voter participation and 85% of voters participating in the RCV process.

Heart Health

Bayer came to us with a difficult challenge to address the +40% increase in heart health issues with low-income people of color communities in America.

We built a Test Kitchen of young people from these communities to understand, explore and protype program ideas to “nudge” family and community members towards healthier heart habits.

Over the course of 12 weeks, our Test Kitchen members designed and built their own program, with a brand identity and scalable initiatives to build greater understanding and appreciation for the cultural nuances and needs of their families and communities

The Test Kitchen called this campaign Small Steps, Big Love.

iROBOT BRAND: I SEE A WORLD

How to bring brand personality to a market-leading Brand, losing market share to cheap imports in an increasingly commoditized market?

Let’s look at Roomba not as an robot vacuum cleaner, but as a critical member for the most challenging households. We took the leading iRobot engineers to New Orleans to spend time with Team Gleason and families living with terminal neuromuscular illness.

And filmed it.

How Do You Care?

One of the greatest healthcare issues facing Labor Unions is the growth of addiction and mental health issues among their members.

As part of the How Do You Take Care? series, we hit the streets of Baltimore, Washsington DC and NYC offering community members the opportunity to share their tips and tricks for staying healthy and happy during the darker winter months.

The gems we found, really are the backbone of what makes America great!

Aeris Acquisition

With the iRobot acquisition of Swiss air purification company, Aeris, we looked for opportunities to demonstrate the powerful impact these air-purifiers have home and community health.

We leaned into Stamford University research showing the impact of air pollution on cognitive learning skills in educational environments.

We built a program, in partnership with NYU Tandon School of Engineering, to measure the effect of improved air quality in selected Brooklyn Public school classrooms, chosen for their proximity to key transit arteries.

The Public Schools program was de-prioritized due to iRobot restructure.

It Could Be You?

Through different iterations of our work with Project Lyme, it’s been such a joy to help Project Lyme’s public profile grow significantly, driving public and political awareness around this nationwide disease.

Understanding the Public Service Announcement (PSA) obligations of American Broadcasters, our Project Lyme Non-PSAs were transmitted 24,000 times across 69 TV stations reaching 319,000 gross impressions.

That’s $17M media value for $120k investment. Not a bad return!

IPO

How to explain a business management platform to everyday Americans as DOMO preps of its IPO?

We interviewed a collection of the 800 data scientists who work for this proudly Utah-based business on the issues they care about most. Turns out homelessness and mental health feature highly on their personal agenda.

We set to work with a year-long programs working with the DOMO data scientists and A Better Life Foundation to build a powerful program to bring to life the DOMO story to life in a creative way, uniting the workforce behind a powerful mission, as DOMO went through a successful $190M IPO.
